My work had going away party before my transfer. I choose a cookout at a park with a large playground so it was the most family friendly. The event was for my co-workers and their families. There was not as much participation as I had hoped, but it was fun. Unfortunately, one of the late arrivals brought a cooler full of "grown-up drinks." Most of the others were grateful, however, I was not. What's the point of going to a family event if you can't do it without alcohol?

I was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for my work while stationed at Naval Base Point Loma. This award was in recognition of efforts including, but not limited to: transitioning a divisional 12 hour watch to a base wide 24 hour watch through the organization and training of over 150 base personnel on 6 complex software programs and related equipment; integral member of the Command Assessment Team, performing over 14 interviews, 9 focus groups, and assisting with the command wide Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute survey for 2 cycles. I was also a key member of the implementation of the original 12 hour watch the previous year. As part of the CAT I was responsible for coordinating NBPL's first ever lactation room for nursing mothers to use upon returning to work after the birth of their baby.

Well in lew of commenting on all your recent posts I'm doing it in one...Awesome job on the award. I know what you mean about the alcohol. Why does it even need to be in a park? The birthday post was awesome. Love the ball pit idea. Awesome hair do's. Lee and I donated our hair once when we lived in Fort Wayne. It was nice to chop it off for something good. Hope your job away goes good and the family does not miss you to much or you miss them too much for that matter.
