First Day of School and Partial Home Tour

First day of school for our school district is always the day after Labor Day.  Fort this school year, Munchkin is in third grader and Little Miss is a kindergartner.

The more traditional pics of Little Miss turned out blurry.

We're trying a new approach to chores for the kids.  Here's our first attempt, we are making a chores binder (bedroom, living room, meal time, bathroom, etc).  We started with cleaning their bedrooms and taking pictures.  The pictures (when the binder is finished) are for reminders of where things go and a general idea of what it should look like.  We're also including a written list in the binder, e.g. make bed, put away clothes, vacuum floor.    Now I just have to remember to take pictures of the other rooms in our house.

Munchkin's room:
The pack-n-play is for Pumpkin's naps (eventually).  Hubby also babysits sometimes, so the other toddler will use this.
  Little Miss' room:
After taking this, I finished cleaning up the top of her dresser, including finally hanging her clock.
She has extra blankets, school clothes (we have specific clothes for school), and her books kept here.
The loft area on the third floor is our "play room"

Some day we plan to finish to going through the toys and get rid of about half of them.  They aren't all played with and some are not that great to begin with (cheap give-away toys, incomplete sets, etc).
See my bag from my failed attempt at selling Discovery Toys when Little Miss was a baby and we still lived in Indiana?
Just for  fun, here's an aerial view of our house, highlighted in yellow. Thanks Google.

In our garage you can see our van and Hubby's old Midnight Special with jacket and reflective vest hanging off the back.  On the playground you can see Little Miss' tricycle.  I couldn't make out people in the shot, but I'm sure we're all outside.

Cool! I love the idea of taking pictures of what the room's supposed to look like! I think I'm gonna have to try that. Then there are no excuses, right?

Just barely got around to catching up on blogs...your kids are getting so big! Love the new pics. I like your cleaning ideas, too.
