Apologies for the lack of posting.

As usual, we've been busy with schedule changes and the like.  I've started several posts, but never seem to finish.

Things I've thought about lately:

I go on deployment in about 4 months.  I'll be gone a minimum of 7.

Should I change my blog to not reveal any names or highly identifiable information?

What exactly are we dealing with regarding our middle child, specifically behavior wise?

Hubby has started selling Pampered Chef; he just hit his 30 day mark.

Pumpkin turned 1.  Only one friend came for his birthday dinner (no extended family either -- Munchkin had my family there, and Little Miss had Hubby's, Pumpkin got the short end of the stick) :(

My class is pretty intense.  Its been a while since I felt stupid or slow.  I'm not used to the feeling.

Munchkin has good days and bad. [well, everyone does.]

I spend WAY too much time reading things on the internet.  I have to work on this one.

I actually have pictures to post, but they need to be loaded onto the computer first.

I can't believe how much stuff I have to put together for deployment.

I'm going to miss my family like crazy.  I've gotten into a rut just thinking about it.

We did our wills.

Little Miss and I donated 10 inches of hair each to Locks of Love.  She got a certificate for her donation.

I enjoy the motorcycle, but don't ride it much since I started class.

Hubby babysits once in a while to help out friends and earn a little mad money. (If he gets too successful - more than one family at a time - he'll have to get licensed through the state, then he'll have to raise his rate and it wouldn't really be helping out the other families.)

We try to have a movie night and game night once a week, usually on the weekends.

We plan our dinners a week at at time.  We waste less food this way, and help keep variety in our diets.

Munchkin loves Seminar.  His only gripe for school this year is his math teacher.

Little Miss loves Kindergarten.  She asks for extra homework.  She breezes through her weekly assignments and works on workbooks we've purchased for her.

I recently learned that I can't handle much dairy.  I had issues during my last pregnancy, and had to avoid it afterward due to Pumpkin's sensitivities, and now we both avoid most of it.  One thing I learned this week, M&Ms seem to be fine.

My weight has leveled out to 110-112lbs.  I kept loosing weight, and finally stopped. Whew.

Hubby's birthday present was Halo: Reach.  I started doing a few levels, but we only have one XBox Live account, so its limited.  He enjoys the Forge level.

Now to get back to the grind . . .

14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? yes, the first trimester was horrible as I was sick but kept bleeding. I lost a lot of weight and kept being told that I would miscarry. I was sick the large part of my pregnancy (only about six weeks of reprieve in the middle). I was at risk for preterm labor as I started having contractions at 26 weeks. Not fun!

Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? yes, I got the stomach flu at 34 weeks and got severly dehydrated, I had pre-term labor from it and was admitted to the hospital for two days (almost three). I kept having contractions until she was born; I was put on a few different medicaitons. I went to the hospital three more times after the flu incident.

New Years Memories

I stumbled across this on Carrie's blog. I thought this was a good way to think about the past year in a different light and maybe realize something I missed.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? I think the most I ever made with a job (before the Navy) was about 10k. This past year I doubled that, and with my bonus, tripled. I know we are by no means rolling in the dough, but we are finally getting somewhere. Thankfully, our housing allowance is non-taxable and that helps out soooo much.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't make any

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? my visiting teaching companion

4. Did anyone close to you die? no

5. What countries did you visit? none. Though we did get lost when my family first moved here and we were within two miles of the border when we found a way to turn around.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? more harmony

7. What was your biggest achievement of the year? getting my clearance back

8. What was your biggest failure? Nearly lapsing back into depression/anxiety after weaning off medication. I really wish I didn't have that monkey on my back. It affects all aspects of my life. I've really made improvements with how I understand/deal with things, but dang it, its just really hard sometimes.

9. Did you suffer illness or injury? not really an injury, but I have unresolved issues with my right shoulder...

I actually met my visiting teaching companion in the second half of 2007 (after moving to San Diego for training); when my family moved here we were assigned to work together. She's pretty awesome, i.e. prior to my family moving she was my ride every week for church.

25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. You have to love and forgive yourself first, no one's efforts will make a difference if you can't do this.

16 Little Factoids.

1. I asked Hubby if he was going to ask me for my number.

2. I picked out my engagement ring. (The diamond, too.)

3. I like Tanzanite. I love the color. I'd say its my favorite gemstone.

4. I had gotten so out of shape with just two kids, that when I enlisted in the Navy I couldn't do a proper push-up (not one), barely any sit-ups (I think it was about five), and couldn't run for any sustained time. I worked out three times a week for three months until I left for boot camp, I did a mock PRT (min. 17 push-ups, 47 sit-ups, 1.5 miles in 15:45 or less) and more than passed!

5. Strawberries and my GI track do not agree.

6. I read the entire Work and the Glory series during the fall/winter of 2007.

7. I read the Chronicles of Narnia during the summer of 2006.

8. I plan to read the Lord of the Rings, probably when I'm on deployment.

9. I gained weight with boot camp. I lost most of it. I'm sure it's mostly muscle, so I try not to complain too much (all told, I've never gotten back to my pre-baby weight like I did after Munchkin, I have about 20lbs for that one).

10. I want to be more self reliant. Some things have gone well, others, I guess we don't have enough time to really devote to making it successful.

11. I think Monty Python is funny, though some is over the top.

12. I lived in Fort Wayne until I was 24. This included 10 different apartments/homes.

13. I lived in Tucson for 13 months, and claim it as my residency for the military (where I enlisted from, and AZ doesn't tax active duty).

14. Our kids were born in the same hospital that Hubby's dad helped to build, the reason his family moved to Indiana. (Lutheran Hospital)

15. Hubby and his best friend, introduced me to the church. I was baptized less than two weeks before we got married.

16. I didn't know it at the time, but my apartment was just across the ward boundaries and since I did the discussions at Jared's parents house, no one really knew/asked. When I met with the counselor of the Mission President and filled out the information for my baptism, I found out I was actually part of another ward. So the next day Hubby & I (he was part of 2nd ward, I was 1st, but we were getting married) went to 1st ward where they announced I was getting baptized that day. I had gone to the 2nd ward for a month or so. The turn out for my baptism was amazing, I had many of my non-member friends, Hubby's family, and two wards there. I was, of coarse, sitting in the front, but was told at the end there was not an empty chair, that people were standing in the back, in the hallway, and the foyer.

25 Random Things About Me

1. I haven't been to a foreign country yet.

2. I took 3 1/2 years of German in High School. Our class was hoping to take a trip to Germany, but we didn't have enough funding, and my senior year things got cut even more. Someday...

3. I moved out of my parents house the summer before my junior year. Because of everything that happened I didn't move back. My soccer season was messed up and I didn't letter that year. I was sick a lot. My grades started to drop.

4. I moved out of my "foster parents" house a month after I turned 18. I dropped all my "extra" classes for the last semester of HS and took my only required class as a night class and worked full time. Basically this killed my chances for a scholarship or a good college.

5. I met my husband a month after graduating HS. His best friend introduced us.

6. I got married at 19 in a very small wedding. I wore my prom dress from my senior year because it was white, even though I had gone to prom with my ex-boyfriend. I had no way to get a dress.

7. I got my temple recommend on my 21st birthday (the Stake President's meeting and signature).

8. I wore my mother-in-law's dress to get sealed in the temple.

9. I know this is a huge can of worms.... I was very against our son getting circumcised, I lost that fight. Yes, there is a story to this, though it probably won't end up on here.

10. I've dropped out of college twice. The first time was when I was first dating my husband and my financial aid was all messed up, I ended up dropping out after three weeks. The second time was when we were threatened with loosing our house, in early 2006 and we moved to AZ.

11. I like lemonade. I like fruit snacks, gummie candies, etc.

12. I like sewing, though I'm not that good... I need more practice and maybe a serger some day.

13. I like basic scrap booking, I especially like photography; I also like cross-stitch.

14. I really like Star Wars. Some day I want to go to Comic Con.

15. I have a security clearance for my job.

16. My husband really picked out our children's first names. They were not my top choices, but he liked them. I was more vocal about the middle names.

17. I wish the rest of our debt was paid off (we're getting there! our next challenge is student loans).

18. I want to take my family to Disney Land. Seriously, I want to save some from our tax return and go for a couple of days.

19. I want to travel with my family, actually go on some kind of vacation/camping trip. I would love to see some of the National Parks.

20. I really like living near mountains. The ocean is nice, but I like mountains more.

21. I have some contact with my uncle's family, and little with my maternal grandmother, and that's about it. I don't talk with my family anymore. Its complicated and depressing. Some day I may get a call, but I'm not sure I'll even get that (you know, funeral notice or something).

22. I like cats. Some dogs, mostly other peoples. Not so much for birds or other furry creatures. I have two fish, the betta I bought and the plecostomus that was given to me. They're just kinda there.

23. I've struggled with cussing/vulgar language since I was in elementary school. I'm not joking, I heard it from my dad and some at the playground. My environment really effects me, if I'm around it I do it more. As you can imagine my work has not helped with this. I really hope I can curb it and not pass on this behavior to my children.

24. I've enjoyed the fact that I was able to breastfeed my children as long as I did. I wish I hadn't given into peer pressure and weaned Munchkin at 15 months. With his reflux and milk sensitivity it really wasn't the best for him. Hindsight is 20/20 they say, but I feel some of his difficulties could have been avoided if I kept nursing him.Little Miss' weaning was much more mutual and child lead. We made it 19 1/2 months, it may have been a little longer, but I was enlisting in the Navy and wanted her to be more adjusted when I left for boot camp the following spring.

25. I liked cloth diapering Little Miss. When she was on mostly solids (1 year old) she became sensitive to her urine, if it was on her skin at all, she was sore. I tried so many things, changing her all the time helped the most. However, I started working full time and it was too much for Hubby to deal with a super sensitive skinned baby, so she was put in store brand diapers with creams/ointments.
