Missing My Family

While talking with Hubby yesterday we discussed our budget and his travel plans.  He needs to wait until this coming Friday before heading back home.  Knowing he plans to spend a couple days with his brother in Wyoming, I just asked that he be home for his birthday.  I guess I shouldn't be too sad, as they left here later than planned.  Our trip to Wyoming for Independence day and moving the next week just left us unprepared for his cross-country trek.

Most days I get a 20 minute or so phone call, and about half the time we have a short Skype call before the kids go to bed.  If I have down time at work we'll text back and forth.  I'm glad they are all having fun and strengthening friendships and seeing family back there.  It just started to hit me when I had my pain flare.  I really miss them.

Phone calls are nice.  And I enjoy using the webcam to see their faces.  But I miss the hugs and kisses.  Reading bedtime stories and promoting my children's curiosity and eagerness to learn about the world around them.  I miss my husband, his voice, the comfort his presence brings.  I can't wait until my family is home and I can hug them all again.

I am so very grateful for the plan of salvation.  Where we can be a family forever.  That those bonds made in the temple will not be broken.  I want to do all that is required to keep and uphold my covenants.  If I don't get called in to work this week I want to visit the temple a few nights.  Our ward temple session isn't until the 16th, but I want to go sooner.  I'm sure I will feel more peace and comfort in those halls.

Working on my home and listening to uplifting music and watching wholesome movies this weekend has helped.  After church this morning, I've watched Emma Smith: My Story, The Work and the Glory, The Work and the Glory II: American Zion, and getting ready to start The Work and the Glory III: A House Divided.  I have the movies going in the background while I cut fabric and sew.

I hope all of you have had a wonderful weekend and Sabbath.

I found out this morning that Hubby decided to pack up late last night and left early today. They got lost in Illinois, but spent about two hours in Nauvoo before everything closed for the day.

They are going camping in the mountains this weekend with Hubby's brother's family. They'll be home by next Tuesday :)

Pumpkin is sooooo cute!! And such a happy boy!! Ran right up to me and hugged onto my leg so I picked him up and he put his head on my shoulder. Then I cradled him and he just took it all in!! He is WAY friendly! And Katie and Little Miss got along so good as well! It was fun to see them. Hope they make it back soon and safe!

:*) I was excited to hear from Hubby that your family was there. I am so happy that the visit went well and our children had fun together. One of these days I need to get out there and visit everyone, too.
