New Toy (Motorcycle)

The deal on the Vulcan 500 fell through. We called back the V Star owner, no response. We went back to the motorcycle shops.

We were thinking either a pre 2008 Honda Shadow Aero or Vulcan 900 Classic. One shop had a couple trade in Vulcan 900s and another just got in a trade in Vulcan 750.

With either of these we'd need partial financing. Upon checking my credit report (thanks annualcreditreport.com), we realized that some things hadn't been updated and a couple more needed fixed.

Looking at Craigslist again Hubby found a Yamaha V Star. We had a choice to make . . .

We went with the Yamaha V Star. This way I can learn and we can always sell it later and get what we really want. We can continue to repair our credit and take care of current needs.

Our new toy is a 2002 Yahama V Star 650 Classic. It is blue and black with some chrome trim (how cool that it matches my gear!). A previous owner caused some aesthetic issues. They removed one V Star symbol and part of the Yamaha lettering on the back fender (all you see now is A A A). There is also a small dent on the corner of the gas tank. It has the sissy bar, but not the passenger seat (the guy who sold it made a homemade one). Overall, it has potential and its something I can learn on and get around town. Plus its big enough for Hubby to not feel silly driving it.

Looks cool. I hope you have fun with it. Please be safe...in my line of work i see a lot of motorcycle accident victims I would hate for you to become one.
