Our Disneyland and California Adventure

Thanks to Disney's Armed Forces Salute we were able to have the family spend a few days at the "Happiest Place on Earth." We arrived Wednesday night, spent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the parks and returned home. After checking into our hotel room we visited Downtown Disney. We looked at a few shops, ate at the Rainforest Cafe, then went to bed.

On our first day in Disneyland we visited Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Frontierland, and Mickey's Toontown. At the end of the day we saw the "Celebrate! A Street Party" parade and watched the "Remember... Dreams Come True" Fireworks Spectacular from the viewing/dining room of our hotel (on the 5th floor, great view).

We returned to Mickey's Toontown and visited Fantasyland and Tomorrowland on our second day. One of the things we did was participate in the "Jedi Training Academy" for which Munchkin was chosen as a Padawan. This was the day Little Miss dressed up as a princess. Before calling it a night we went back to Downtown Disney and picked out a few souvenirs to keep.

On our final day we returned to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, then went to California Adventure. The line to meet the Disney Princesses was extremely long on the second day, however, we had more luck on our last day and Little Miss was able to meet four princesses instead of the normal three. Before heading home we saw the "Pixar Play Parade."

There were several things we were unable to do. Obviously, I couldn't go on the more intense rides. Though we had been told before leaving that Little Miss was tall enough for most of the rides, upon trying to actually taking her on them the attendants said she was barely not tall enough (less than 1/2 inch according to them) -- I guess we should have had thicker soled shoes. Over all it was a good trip and we look forward to returning in the future.
