Need Ideas/ Disney Land

I'm taking 9 days leave in early April (haven't taken leave since Christmas 2007). We are going to visit my in-laws for a few days, then come home for a day/day and a half, then go to Disneyland for three days, then home for Easter Sunday, then back to work. Sounds busy doesn't it?

Disney is doing an Armed Forces Salute this year. Disneyland's Salute is through June 12th (they're doing a three day park hopper; my ticket is free and I get up to 5 family and friends in for the cost of a one day hopper), while Disney World's Salute is through December 23rd (they're doing a five day hopper, same deal otherwise). Being that we are much closer (about 1 1/2 hr drive) to DL, that's where we're going.Munchkin 's last day of school isn't until June 15th, so we decided to go during Spring Break.

I've looked up the various attractions and entertainment available with both Disneyland and California Adventure. Everyone has given input about what they absolutely have to see. i.e. Jedi Academy, Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Rainforest Cafe, Aladdin show, etc.

We have reservations at a hotel across from the main entrance; this will make meals and breaks/naps easier. We will drive up on Wed to stay the night, maybe go to Downtown Disney for dinner, and enjoy the hotel's pool (we get free breakfast here, too). We will go to DL and CA on Thur, Fri, and Sat (we check out of our hotel at 11am or 12pm - can't remember at the moment) and drive home that evening.

One thing I would like to do is help Little Miss dress up like a princess (her birthday is the week before we go). Disney World has the Bibbity Boppity Boutique and it sounds really neat, but expensive. However, Disneyland does not have this. I'm not going to go crazy, but plan to do her hair, paint her nails, and probably get one of those crystal tattoos that all the girls in the pictures have. I'm not very keen on having her wear makeup as I hardly ever wear makeup; maybe some colored lip gloss and some glitter/sparkle stuff.

If you've gone to Disney Land or Disney World...
What were some things we can do to make your trip memorable? Any must do activities? Any ideas of do-it-yourself memorabilia? I don't want to fork over a big chunk of my paycheck for things we can make/bring from home that can add to the fun and memories. Thanks for your help.

Forgot to add...
We went to Disney Land five years ago when Hubby's brother got married in San Diego. We bought two day park hopper tickets. We were able to bring Falconer on that trip. Munchkin was 1 3/4 and Falconer was 3 1/2. Needless to say, there was quite a bit we couldn't do. We missed several things in Disney Land itself; there was a lot of construction and we somehow missed Toon Town entirely. The only thing we did in Downtown Disney was go to the Rainforest Cafe (after plane tickets, hotel, park hopper tickets, food, etc we didn't have a lot of money left -- thankfully we were able to borrow my mother-in-law's car by flying to PHX instead of SAN).

we made our own autograph books with scrapbooking supplies

and I hit up the dollar store for disney stuff for souveniers etc.
